Blake Pierre was born in Shreveport Louisiana, and later relocated to Prince Georges County, Maryland at the age of ten. Blake played football throughout middle school and high school. During his senior year in High School Blake fractured his left wrist and could not play football. Through this tragedy, he discovered his purpose. He began to draw regularly, and in December 2012, he and his family took a trip to New Orleans. During the trip, he visited an art gallery. Seeing art in a gallery for the first time was very inspirational. He spoke with the gallery owner about a few pieces in the gallery, and he encouraged him to paint. Soon after, he painted a very unique and expressive abstract portrait painting.
The new school year he entered college as a psychology major, and after much contemplation, he eventually changed his major to studio art.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts & Science Degree from Grambling State University and earned a Post Baccalaureate Certificate of Painting & Drawing from the School of Art Institute of Chicago. Blake has exhibited his artwork nationally and has presented artwork to several high-profile individuals such as Grammy award-winning singer Erykah Badu, pastor, and activist, Rev. Dr. Jamal Bryant, and the family of Freddie Gray at the Grand Opening of the Freddie Gray Center. Blake commissioned pieces for the United Center to Create art for the “United Center Astroworld Art Gallery” to welcome music artist Travis Scott and the AstroWorld tour. He also curated and exhibited a solo art exhibition for the Governor Edwards Welcome Celebration, Conrad Hutchinson Jr. Performing Arts Center.
